Learning in a Changing World
Children are being taught differently than they have been in the past. Electronic media is playing an increasingly important role in education. The use of smart-boards, tablets, google and wikipedia is making teaching and information mining quick, easy and efficient. It is easy also to get lost in an information overload and not know what is useful information and what is not. This overload extends not only to the information itself but also to the attention centres of the brain (see Richard Louv's book Last Child in the Woods). Nature based learning is, well, "natural" for information retention. By using multiple senses together in an interactive outdoor setting the lessons are made real and applicable to every-day life.
Here at Wild Roots we teach through experience and fun. Contact us for further information and program pricing.
